Who is chopper

What’s cracking everybody

i want to let you know a little more about me and a how i got this far.

I was born on Feb.26th, 1979 in Flint Michigan. This city may sound familiar to some… yeah that’s the same hometown of Michael Moore (Fahrenheit 9-11) . Now you see why I’m on the other end of the country in California. You may be wondering how I made it out and how I got to this point in my life and career.

Allow me to me explain. I have been dancing since the age of three, despite a short break at thirteen to pursue basketball and track. Surprisingly nothing made feel as fulfilled as dance, so shortly thereafter I was back in the studio. In my junior year attending Powers Catholic High I made up my mind deciding that I wanted to dance for a living. So I applied to Western Michigan University and followed in the foot steps of my older sister as dance major.

It was there that I gained an appreciation for other forms of dance like ballet, modern, jazz and choreography. In my junior year of college I received my call of destiny. A friend of mine from Flint was signed to Warner Brother Records as a recoding artist, and they wanted me to go out on the road as a dancer! Here began my professional career!

I took a break from school to be a backup dancer on the first “Lil’ Bow Wow Scream tour”. This is where I meet B2k, LiL Zane and lil Bow Wow After the tour ended things only got better. Our next gig was to open up for the biggest boy band in the world (at the time) N’sync “No Strings Attached tour”. I couldn’t believe it. My dreams of touring around the country all came true in one summer. dancing on a stage in a stadium feel with people blow my mind and took my breath away every night. I loved every min. Ensync was amazing.

Once the touring ended I tried out the dance scene in Chicago where i trained for six months at Lou onte Dance studio . Thats where I meet a great hip hop teacher by the name of frank Z. He shared his passion for dance with me and inspired me to really get to Hollywood. It didn’t’ take long before I was anxious for bigger and better opportunities and I knew just the place to go. Los Angeles was calling my name! So I hoped on a plane and the rest is history

The past 6 years living in Los Angeles I have been truly blessed to work with some of the industry’s biggest choreographers (Tina laden, Dave Scott, Hi Hat, Ro Ro etc.) and artists (Omarion, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, etc.) I have also been fortunate to grace the big screen. I have worked on many feature films such as “Stomp the Yard”, “You Got Served “, “Idlewild”, “Dance flick” I have toured with major artists such as Omarion, and Ginuwine, and appeared on many awards shows such as the American Music Awards, Bet Awards, Soul Train Awards just to name a few. I love to teach all levels of dance and I recently opened my own dance studio in Hollywood California called Ography Dance Studio www.ographydance.com.
